10th Oxford Scout Group Beavers

Beavers

Thursdays 5.00pm - 6.00pm

What are Beaver Scouts?

Beaver Scouts are boys and girls aged between six and eight years old. We meet on a Thursday, normally at the Scout Hut but occasionally elsewhere. Throughout their time in the section Beaver Scouts earn badges for a variety of things including collecting, sports and cooking which they can display proudly on their uniform.

In the past year we have also been sailing, climbing and had our annual Easter egg hunt and summer water fight. We also tried out a number of outdoor activities such as rock climbing, pioneering, and archery.

Throughout the year we explore different national holidays and celebrations such as Chinese New Year, St. George's Day and Christmas. We don't just follow the holidays though. We also aim to keep Scouting at the basics, and teach knotting, orienteering, and much more, but above all else... life skills!

About Beaver Scouts

Beaver Scouts wear a turquoise jumper and a blue and white neckerchief. When they earn badges they can be added to the uniform.

A guide showing where the badges belong can be found here

The highest award that Beaver Scouts can earn is the Chief Scout Bronze award by completing a number of activities throughout their time here, including teamwork, skills and activities about the world around us.

A list of all the available badges that can be earned at Beavers can be found here
